Hassan Hajjaj | La Salle de Gym des Femmes Arabes

In Morocco, gyms have women-only hours during which the ladies can be seen assorting their hijabs with pairs of Nikes. In London, where workout rooms are mixed, furnished with fancier equipment, and filled with scantily clad subscribers,  such sightings are considered amusing. With a recurrent theatricality that has metamorphosed The Third Line into a hip workout space for the duration of his solo exhibition, Hassan Hajjaj blends both cultures (that of Morocco-his hometown and London-his place of residence) in La Salle de Gym des Femmes Arabes (Arab Women's Gym)—a body of work that continues to highlight the inner strength of his female acquaintances.
